The NACCO organization also reflects a tradition of leadership in heavy industry. Founded as Cleveland and Western Coal Company in 1913, the firm was renamed North American Coal Corporation in 1925 to reflect its rapid expansion from coal sales to coal mining. Today, the company remains a principle provider of lignite coal to electric utilities, having also diversified in to other industries. NACCO Industries Inc, as our parent company is now known employs more than 14,400 people in its world-wide subsidiaries generating annual revenue of more than $2.6 Billion.
